At Juniper Capital, we lend not only money, but also extend our time and resources to help grow communities and our future generations. We achieve this through volunteering our time to help others and support  the real estate community. We wanted to take a step back to recognize some of the individual and collective efforts where our team has positively impacted area professional and civic endeavors.

Juniper Capital partnered with our neighbor, the Friends of The Issaquah Salmon Hatchery to sponsor and plan the first “Salmon on Sunset” event to raise money and awareness. This event had a spectacular turnout with hundreds of attendees and generated tens of thousands of dollars for the organization. The community is very excited to make this an annual event moving forward.

MaryAnn Blake is in a leadership role with CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), giving her time outside work both sitting on the board and leading the Events Committee. MaryAnn planned and executed CREW’s year-end event whose theme was “Investing In Future Leaders.” The event was filled from door to door and focused on how we can grow our next generation of professionals.

Internship opportunities can lift up our youth and provide real job experience. Through our internship partner, Gibson Ek High School, we have the privilege of working with a local student. Twice each week, student John McGee joins us for two hours and helps us work on projects. He has been a great part of the team, and we have thoroughly enjoyed his support. “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Juniper, and have gotten so much out of it; I love talking with Kurt and Jared about interesting things I’ve found in my research,” McGee said. “I’ve learned so much about private money lending, an industry that I didn’t even know existed a few months ago, and have gained more confidence in talking with adults. I’m very grateful to the entire Juniper team for giving me this amazing opportunity.”

Reflecting our service to the Inland Northwest, Juniper Capital has sponsored and Leslie Ursich has been an active member of the Montana Ambassadors volunteer program. This vibrant group of people is dedicated to living and doing business in Montana. They represent Montana within the state, at events outside the state, and represent the Office of the Governor and Department of Commerce. This group is key to Montana’s economic development and has been instrumental in its significant growth.

Jared Grose has stepped into leadership and volunteer roles with both the Rotary Boys and Girls Club and the (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) NAIOP’s Developing Leaders Committee. Through his upcoming role as the Rotary Boys and Girls Club chair, Jared will be partnering with the Rotary Club to help grow and support the Rotary Boys and Girls Club’s initiatives. Jared is also a frequent volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club, including community enhancement projects, and the pee wee basketball league on weekends. As part of NAIOP’s “Developing Leaders Committee” for 2023, Jared will be the membership liaison, focusing on supporting and growing the real estate community in Washington State.

As we wrap the last weekend of November by giving thanks, we are grateful to be a part of this vibrant Northwest community. It’s only fitting we give back through community outreach and service in the place that has contributed to the success of our business.
