Have you noticed the colors of autumn greeting us with the vibrancy of the changing season and the multi-colored leaves that are beginning to fall to the ground? I noticed this first hand in the parking lot of my local grocer this morning, as orange leaves were scattered all across the ground. And, as the crisp bite of fall drags me kicking and screaming into the new season, I realize that I can’t fight change. I must embrace it and embark on the new journey that lies ahead. This holds true on any new path we decide to walk. But, regardless of the change of seasons or any new missions that lie before us, there is always something to look forward to.

Fortunately, fall is full of festivities (say that 3 times fast!) and football season is underway! Issaquah Salmon Days (October 4-5) are coming up, as well as Halloween, Oktoberfest, and the Ben Towne Foundation’s “Accelerate the Pace” event at Marymoor Park on October 11 that Juniper is sponsoring.

In October, we also begin our sponsorship of The Issaquah Food Bank and the Student of the Month program again through the Rotary Club of Sammamish, recognizing students for their outstanding achievements.

Upcoming meetings that we will be attending are the SMBA Income Property Lunch on October 2, titled “The Disposition Process of the SSDC,” as well as the SMBA dinner on October 14, “Is the Emerging Mortgage Industry a Match for Your Business?” I’m also excited about the CREW luncheon on October 9 (“Repositioning Westlake Center as a Major Shopping Destination”) and the NAIOP breakfast meeting on October 15 at the Four Seasons in Seattle, WA.

And getting back to football… the Huskies are 4-0, the Cougs hung in there with Oregon, and the Hawks beat the Broncos… again, all adding to the excitement of fall in the Northwest!
